Senior Cloud Engineer (AKS) at Volt in Santa Monica, California

Job Description:

Volt is hiring for a hybrid Senior Cloud Engineer in Santa Monica, CA.

As a a skilled Kubernetes Contractor/ Senior Cloud Engineer you will:
Have strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), to assist with migrating existing workloads to Azure from Google Cloud and helping onboard new developer teams & workloads. The ideal candidate will have experience with running and managing multitenant Kubernetes Clusters at scale . They will ideally be able to work with internal teams of various levels of maturity to migrate their workloads quickly and effectively from one cloud to another with minimal disruption.
• Manage and optimize Azure AKS clusters to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Implement and maintain gitops-driven workflows using ArgoCD, GitHub Actions and Helm.
• Configure and manage Azure AKS IAM to ensure secure access and permissions.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless transition of applications and services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters and deployments.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices for Kubernetes operations.

This role is hybrid in Santa Monica, CA on a 12-month contract.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong knowledge of helm and go templating.
• Good familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Experience running Multi-Tenant Clusters Kubernetes at scale.
• Experience with gitops driven workflows using tools like ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts and CNIs.

Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of Crossplane for managing infrastructure through Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of Policy as Code tools such as OPA or Kyverno.
• Expertise in Azure AKS IAM.

Pay Range: $81.73 - $84.13 /hr
