Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:
The Senior NERC (North American Electric Reliabilty Corporation) Compliance Analyst is primarily responsible for monitoring NERC Operations and Planning (O&P) Standards and developments and ensuring the organization's readiness to meet new requirements.
Acts as Project Manager / Systems Analyst to work with Subject Matter Experts and management to ensure reliability.
Communicates pending or upcoming NERC regulatory obligations to Subject Matter Experts and internal stakeholders.
Provides specialized technical expertise and support for compliance program development and compliance performance tracking and reporting.
Establishes, administers, and monitors departmental procedures and performance to minimize risk and ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards and other legal requirements.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
Review of New Standards and Guidance - An individual with a technical mindset is responsible for an ongoing review and update of the NERC Reliability Standards as well as the issuance of supporting documents such as procedures and process documents. Any changes and/or updates need to be communicated to Subject Matter Experts. The Senior Analyst will coordinate the tracking of changes to Standards and manage overall operational compliance for Avangrid Renewables to ensure compliance requirements are met and that there are internal controls documented for ensuring Avangrid Renewables remains in compliance in the future.
Audit Preparation - Avangrid Renewables is subject to regular audits for compliance with NERC Operations and Planning Standards. The Senior Analyst will be expected to support the preparation of audit documents prior to external audits and to conduct regular internal audits of individual Standards. They will support Avangrid Renewables by interacting with external auditors from NERC and FERC Federal Energy Regulartory Commission) as well as Transmission Owners (TO), Planners (TP/PC) and several RTOs/ISOs (CAISO, ERCOT, ISO-NE, MISO, NYISO, and WECC.
Document Management - The NERC Reliability program includes almost 100 policies, procedures, and forms that need to be reviewed and updated on an annual basis. A document trail must be kept demonstrating compliance with each Standard. The Senior Analyst will manage the review and updates of policies and procedures in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts. The Senior Analyst will also work with the Subject Matter Experts to create new operational policies, procedures and associated documentation.
Training - Lead employee training on assigned regulatory compliance Standards.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience Required:
•Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 5 years in project management, compliance, operations, auditing, and/or engineering, an associate degree with a minimum of 4 years in project management, compliance, operations, auditing, and/or engineering, or 4 years in Operations and Planning (O&P) NERC Reliability Assurance.
