Job Summary

As a Specialist, Data Management, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's data management initiatives across one or more aspects of the data lifecycle, ensuring alignment with policies, standards, and data risk controls. Your experience in data classification, metadata management, data quality, data retention and/or data sharing will help strengthen the policy-based frameworks and improve enterprise data usability. You will contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for mastering data domains, regulatory compliance, and data stewardship, collaborating with business and technology teams to drive operational excellence. This role is ideal for a data professional who is passionate about enabling trusted, well-managed data ecosystems and ensuring that data is properly governed, classified, and securely managed.

Essential Job Functions


  • Partner with data communities and collaborate cross-functionally with Data Governance, IT and other functions to ensure integration of data quality/management processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data-related issues and provide innovative solutions. Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. - (30%)

  • Work with minimum instruction on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Identify, design, develop and implement data centric solutions driven in alignment to the goals of the Data & Analytics department. - (25%)

  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Create and maintain documentation, define and/or implement procedures, ensure compliance with policies and standards and report on established metrics and KPIs. Analyze and interpret data sets to support decision-making processes. Maintain and update data management systems and tools. - (25%)

  • Provide insight in the implementation of data lifecycle management strategies and policies ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility throughout the data lifecycle. Establish evidence from industry research of best practices to expand the policies, standards and procedures. - (10%)

  • Provide leadership in specialization in defined data discipline that is support through clear communication, decision making, conflict resolution and inspiring others to achieve their best. - (10%)

Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 5+ years of experience working in Data Management roles.

  • 4+ years of experience developing complex queries using SQL or other coding languages.

  • 5+ years of experience using Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry.

  • Experience in MDM, Record Management, and/or Data Protection.

  • Experience in Data Lifecycle Management Practices.

Salary Range (unless otherwise noted below):
$87,900.00 - $159,200.00

Full Salary Range for position:
California: $101,000.00 - $198,900.00

Colorado: $87,900.00 - $167,100.00

New York: $96,600.00 - $198,900.00

Washington: $92,200.00 - $183,000.00

Maryland: $92,200.00 - $175,100.00

Washington DC: $101,000.00 - $183,000.00

Illinois: $87,900.00 - $175,100.00

New Jersey: $101,000.00 - $183,000.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial's 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time ("PSST") upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
