2nd Shift Quality Technician- (M-F, 3p-11p)

Position Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, documenting results, and working closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Inspection & Testing:


  • Perform in-process and final inspections of plastic components to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, and contamination.
  • Perform functional and durability tests as required.

Process Monitoring & Documentation:

  • Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
  • Record test results, non-conformances, and corrective actions in quality databases.
  • Maintain accurate and organized inspection reports, control plans, and other quality documents.

Defect Investigation & Problem Solving:

  • Work with production and engineering teams to identify the root cause of defects and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with plant and customer requirements.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure compliance with company and industry quality standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve product quality and reduce waste.

Education and Experience


  • High school diploma/GED

  • One to three month's related experience and/or training; preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer proficiency (Word & Excel); required

  • Ability to read, understand and use calipers and other test and measuring equipment; required

  • 2 years, or more production experience; preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization
  • Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at the solution
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
