Schedule production activity across multiple production lines. This entails planning, coordinating, and managing the flow of products through our operations to ensure efficient resource allocation and the timely completion of orders while optimizing workflow and minimizing delays.
Job Duties:
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for multiple packaging lines ensuring alignment with productions plans
Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
Maintain and update scheduling software to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime
Maintain machine utilization standards, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors which affect schedules
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in packaging, processing, warehousing and quality
Responsible for performing a variety of scheduling tasks with a relative degree of creativity and latitude is required
Prepare reports, generate and analyze data for missed attainment and schedule changes
Responsible for day-to-day operations and procedures to ensure all schedules are attained on all production lines
Communicate priorities and issues to packaging, processing and warehouse teams
Monitor priority order shipment schedules daily and adjust production priorities accordingly
Participate in daily production/order planning meetings; communicate priorities, issues, etc.
Prepare and issue production schedules for 21(24 Master Planning Families) production lines taking into consideration packaging and processing constraints to provide the most efficient production schedule possible
Collaborate with Purchasing, Commodities, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance, ensuring all packaging materials are available for final schedule, availability of green coffee, order of toxicity of flavored coffees and machine availability for preventative maintenance schedules
Work closely with order planning specialists, planners, and other team members to provide and coordinate critical information to achieve 100% on time delivery of customer requirements
Liaise with Planning/Manufacturing to discuss/plan solutions for line breakdowns, holiday schedules and plant shutdowns
Manage, create and close work orders for 700+ items weekly and at month-end
Provide finance a monthly/yearly report of roasted pounds
Qualifications & Requirements:
College preferred with minimum 3 years of experience in the field or related area particularly in a manufacturing environment
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
Working knowledge of PC based systems; expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred experience in ERP software such as JD Edwards, other Oracle software, SAP, etc.; Planning software such as Logility, PlanetTogether, etc.; Manufacturing software such as Vorne, MES, etc.
Problem solving, planning prioritization and execution skills are essential to this position
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to direct, collaborate, gain consensus and effectively delegate
