Ultimate Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer for a client in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have experience as a CNC programmer for a largely Robotics shop on a variety projects including brake press, mills, lathes, tube benders, etc. Strong metal knowledge and experience with welded and steel fabrication is preferred.
Salary: $65-75K (may be negotiable)
Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:30pm

Overview:
The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, writing, and optimizing CNC programs to ensure the efficient and precise operation of CNC machinery. This role involves collaborating with engineers, machinists, and production teams to create programs that meet design specifications, improve production processes, and maintain high-quality standards. The CNC Programmer will also be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining machine setups, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Programming: Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations, including milling, turning, drilling, and grinding, ensuring that they meet design and quality specifications.
Tooling & Fixture Design: Collaborate with engineers and machinists to design and select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and setups to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
Process Optimization: Analyze machining processes and implement improvements to reduce cycle times, minimize waste, and enhance overall productivity.
Simulation & Verification: Use simulation software to test and verify CNC programs before running them on the machines, ensuring accuracy and preventing errors.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to CNC programs, machine setups, and machining processes, providing technical support to the production team.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of CNC programs, machine setups, tooling specifications, creating BOM, and process improvements for future reference and quality control.
Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality department to ensure that machining processes meet or exceed quality standards, conducting root cause analysis on defects and implementing corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen events, to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
Training & Support: Provide training and support to machinists on CNC programming, machine operation, and proper setup techniques.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all CNC programming and machining activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and machining for Robotics Shops brake press, mills, lathes, tube benders, robotics
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Strong understanding of machining processes, including milling, turning, and grinding.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for tooling and fixture design.
- Certifications: CNC Programmer Certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various positions, including kneeling, crouching, and bending.
