The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant in the Fiscal and Support Services Division to provide financial management support to VEDP and the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
Responsibilities:
Perform general accounting functions using Acumatica system, including expenditure processing, journal entries, and financial reporting
Process semi-monthly payroll and fringe benefits accounting using ADP payroll system
Complete monthly general ledger and bank account reconciliations
Assist with annual financial audit and fiscal year-end reporting, including preparation of financial templates and supporting schedules
Coordinate and complete federal grant reporting
Skills:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for governmental organizations and related financial reporting practices
Experience with payroll procedures, employee benefit plans, and federal and state payroll reporting requirements
Ability to manage computerized payroll processing and reporting system
Skilled in use of computerized accounting and financial reporting system
Knowledge of internal control structures and compliance
Experience with reconciliation techniques and procedures
Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
5+ years accounting or finance-related experience
CPA certification preferred
