Job Description:

Stone Ridge is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Athletics Department to begin work on August 4, 2025.

Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. The Administrative Assistant for the Athletic Department will be the primary point of contact for daily communication and coordination with Division Offices, staff and parents from the Stone Ridge community, as well as staff and teams from visiting schools and facility rental groups and organizations.

The Administrative Assistant for the Athletic Department will: 

  • Confirm all games with opposing schools and coordinate operational logistics for home and away games and meets. 
  • Submit results of all SR games/meets to respective internal and external websites
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Division and Departmental Offices at SR that reach out to the Athletics Department and to all visitors - students, staff, coaches, family members, prospective students and families, and facility rental group users.
  • Serve as primary manager of student attendance for Athletics, requiring collaboration with Upper and Middle School Offices for early dismissals, eligible Athletics participation, and the earning of Physical Education credits.
  • Lead in facilitation of the organization and cleanliness of Athletic Facilities, including but not limited to gyms, weight room, field, and storage areas.
  • Assist with equipment and team uniform distribution, inventory, and tracking.
  • Assist with the management and upkeep of the SR Athletics webpage and facility usage schedules using Veracross, Finalsite, Google Drive and/or other applicable software platforms
  • Assist the Director of Athletics and Athletics Department staff in executing all administrative needs for the Department
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Physical Education to plan, organize, and execute special events, including but not limited to: Field Day, Blue/Gold Events, Gator Game Days, Swamp Shines Events, Senior Days, Athletics Banquets, Admissions Events, and Department and League Meetings etc.
  • Coach or teach physical education courses depending on the needs of the department.
  • This is an Academic administrative position running from mid-August to mid-June, observing all School breaks and holidays.
  • Typical hours for this position will be 10:00am-6:30pm, Monday-Friday. Some schedule adjustments will be necessary to meet the demands of the School and Athletics schedule.

Essential skills and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with related experience preferred
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Gmail, and Internet
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask

The desired candidate has counseling experience with adolescents. Compensation includes salary commensurate with experience, with the salary range for this position likely falling somewhere between $40,000 and $55,000, depending on years/type of experience and level of education.
