Child Action, Inc. (CAI) is a private, non-profit corporation created in 1976 to promote the education and social welfare of children and families and to advocate on their behalf. Our programs include resource and referral services for families seeking childcare, child care subsidies for qualifying families, recruitment and professional development of the child care workforce, and family education and support.

Position Purpose & Scope:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the GIS Analyst will oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of geographic and spatial data to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role will be instrumental in leveraging GIS technology and spatial analysis to optimize operations, improve reporting, and support strategic initiatives. The GIS Analyst will manage geospatial data integrations, optimize GIS reporting tools, and support GIS analysis efforts for departments such as fundraising, marketing, program management, and more.

Typical Duties:

Collect and handle data, provide mapping services, perform technical research and analysis, and coordinate activities.
Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and visualizations to support organizational decision-making, using platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, ArcGIS Enterprise Server.
Develop and generate detailed maps and visualizations to support presentations and reports.
Support the integration of data from various systems, ensuring accurate and timely data flow.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and automate reports to provide real-time insights into program performance, fundraising efforts, and other key metrics, leveraging GIS technology to analyze and visualize data.
Provide technical support and guidance on GIS software, tools, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data into ongoing projects and initiatives.
Assist with the creation of GIS-based reports, presentations, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Perform data validation and quality control tasks to ensure the reliability and accuracy of spatial data.
Stay updated on the latest GIS analysis tools, techniques, and best practices to continuously improve data workflows.
Ensure GIS data is compliant with relevant standards, privacy policies, and ethical guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
