The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying, pursuing, and capturing new business opportunities within the military and defense sector. This individual will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with Navy and Marine Corps stakeholders, collaborating with program contacts, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of military procurement processes, defense contracting, and the unique challenges and opportunities associated with the Navy/Marine Corps IT infrastructure systems. The Business Development Manager may be located in Florida or in a location close to customer location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand the company's footprint with Navy and USMC program customers.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, program managers, and contracting officers.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market research, customer engagement, and competitive analysis.
  • Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of capture plans, proposals, and bids, collaborating with internal teams to ensure compelling and compliant submissions.
  • Partnerships & Alliances: Cultivate partnerships with defense primes, subcontractors, and industry stakeholders to enhance market positioning.
  • Market Insights: Stay informed on defense industry trends, government procurement policies, and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
  • Sales Targets: Achieve or exceed revenue and growth targets aligned with company objectives.
Requirements:


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Defense Studies, or a related field.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of business development experience in the defense industry.
  • Proven experience working with the U.S. Marine Corps and/or the F-35 program.
  • Strong understanding of military procurement processes and defense acquisition programs.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute capture strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in market research and competitive analysis.
  • Clearance: Active or ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance preferred.
