Starting Salary: $18.23/hr - $22.43/hr (Commensurate with training and experience)

The City of Columbia is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician I to join our Airport Division. In this vital role, you will help maintain and repair city facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and well-kept. Your work will directly contribute to the seamless operation of our city's infrastructure and public spaces.
Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of city facilities.
Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and structures.
Assist in ordering, maintaining, and distributing necessary supplies.
Conduct minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
Prepare and paint surfaces as needed.
Work with a team to ensure facilities are operating efficiently and safely.
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of relevant maintenance experience.
Skills & Knowledge: Basic understanding of building trades, safety standards, and standard tools and equipment.
Physical Ability: This position requires lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, frequent movement, and working in various environments including outdoor, warehouse, and shop settings.
Certifications: Depending on the assignment, a Pesticide Applicator Certification or other relevant certifications may be required.
Airport Assignment Requirement: Must pass an annual Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check.
