The City of Columbia is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician I to join our Airport Division. In this vital role, you will help maintain and repair city facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and well-kept. Your work will directly contribute to the seamless operation of our city's infrastructure and public spaces.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of city facilities.

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and structures.

• Assist in ordering, maintaining, and distributing necessary supplies.

• Conduct minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.

• Prepare and paint surfaces as needed.

• Work with a team to ensure facilities are operating efficiently and safely.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of relevant maintenance experience.

• Skills & Knowledge: Basic understanding of building trades, safety standards, and standard tools and equipment.

• Physical Ability: This position requires lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, frequent movement, and working in various environments including outdoor, warehouse, and shop settings.

• Certifications: Depending on the assignment, a Pesticide Applicator Certification or other relevant certifications may be required.

• Airport Assignment Requirement: Must pass an annual Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check.
