Job Summary:

The Project Manager will lead a project teamin the execution of Utility Capital Projects from Initiation of the Projectthrough Closeout. The PM is responsible for managing project budgets,interfacing with other Client departments to address project needs,communicating and interfacing with jurisdictional management, using Clientsystems for reporting, interfacing with all local, state, and regionalregulatory agencies, negotiating and managing contracts and contractors. The PMshall have superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organizational,and presentation skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strictly adhereto Client's procedures (note that practically all work is covered by some typeof procedure, either written or implied).

• Lead the effortsof Client and Contractor personnel towards the safe and successful completionof capital projects through distinct stages: Initiation, Definition, Execution(Design and Construction) and Closeout.

• Keep ClientSenior Manager of Project Management apprised of project status and issues.

• Maintain qualitydocumentation.

• Obtain regularprogress updates of key activities.

• Gather scopinginformation and prepare execution plans, schedules, and estimates.

• Submit fundingrequests for approval.

• Request and trackwork orders creation.

• Providereoccurring web based status reports.

• Providestandalone status reports as required.

• Perform projectdocument control.

• Participate inconstructability reviews and bid evaluations.

• Facilitateinteractions with external Customers.

• Update monthlyProject Cost Sheets.

• With assistancefrom Scheduler, perform regular schedule maintenance.

• Lead teammeetings, document minutes, and track actions.

• Conduct anddocument Lessons Learned at the completion of each project.

• Participate inmonthly budget reviews with Client Management.

• Lead the projectthrough Gate reviews at the completion of each applicable project stage.

• Track anddocument project gate and funding approvals.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Basic or Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of ten (10) years of Project Managementexperience;

• Experience in the Electric Utility Transmission System,Distribution System, Power Generation, and/or Municipal Utility Management; orother closely related industry is required;

• Four (4) Year Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, ProjectManagement or Relevant Bachelor of Science degree required;

• Requires a working knowledge of PMBOK;

• Requires familiarity with Primavera software (v6.0 or newer)and/or Microsoft Project;

• Must have a proven ability to lead many diverse teams throughsuccessful completion of

• projects from initiation to closeout;

• Must have superior interpersonal, leadership, communication,organizational, and

• presentation skills;

• Requires a proven ability to communicate effectively bothverbally and written;

• Must possess advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of products(especially MS Word and MS Excel) and web based platforms (cost management,forecasting, reporting, etc.

PreferredQualifications

• Electric Utility Transmission and/or Distribution experiencepreferred;

• Experience with managing $5M+ project budgets preferred;

• PMP preferred;

• P6 experience preferred.

*Project Manager IV is an EDG corporate designation. The Hiring Managerwill assess the applicable client designation as a PMI, PMII or Sr. PM.

Working Conditions:

• Work is primarilyconducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) but also requiresoccasional travel to off-site work locations.

• Field dutiesrequire trips to transmission line ROW and substations.

• Interaction withother team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel.

• Must be able towear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personalprotection.

• May be at morethan one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.

• May be requiredto travel out of town on a periodic basis.

  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
