Job Description:

As the Field Sales Representative, you play a crucial role in our success. Your primary goal is to develop and execute a sales plan for assigned Fabricator, OEM, and CM accounts, focusing on business retention, account penetration, and demand identification initiatives to meet or exceed established sales and profit forecast/goals. You also aim to develop new business within the New York territory, a task that is integral to our growth and expansion.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties as assigned):



  • Identify, track, and pursue available business at the assigned account base and geographic territory.

  • Manage account activity to ensure proper product penetration and volume increases.

  • Travels to accounts in the territory to meet with current and prospective accounts to present or reinforce the Company's value proposition to identify and close business opportunities.

  • Manage all internal and external resources necessary to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Display or demonstrate products and services using appropriate sales and marketing collateral.

  • Develop and present professional business proposals to existing and prospective customers.

  • Prepares and submits strategic account call itineraries and call reports as required.

  • Work and communicate with inside sales to coordinate account activities and strategies.

  • Develop robust and productive supplier relationships and coordinates customer product presentations with suppliers.

  • Update customer profile tools and uses information to manage territory as required efficiently.

  • Develop, maintain, and advance relationships with key customer contacts within the assigned account base, including purchasing, engineering, and upper management.

  • Directly solicit customer service feedback and, if necessary, assists in coordinating the resolution of any problems or issues.

  • Attend trade shows to network with potential customers and suppliers and promote the Company's products and services.

  • Prepare and submit business expense reports as required.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University; or four years related sales/marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in technical sales, or electronic component distribution sales or closely related field preferred. Fasteners experience a plus.



Computer Skills: Proficiency in the following applications: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with sales tracking software a plus, specifically CRM.



Frequent travel required.


Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.


Ability to manage time efficiently.


Very strong customer service skills.


Effective verbal and written communications.


Research and reporting skills to analyze sales data and trends to create sales opportunities.


Ability to negotiate.


Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision.


Financial skills and business acumen to understand sales profitability and opportunities.
