5-7 years' experience performing in-process and final inspection preferably in a machining, automotive or aerospace business
Thorough knowledge of GD&T
CMM operation required
Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards
Visual cosmetic inspection experience required
Supervisory experience a plus
CMM programming preferred
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact with fellow employees and customers in a professional manner is essential
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Independent; can work with little to no supervision and direction
NPI or R&D experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
Exert up to 40 pounds occasionally
Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading dial and digital gages, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and assemblies
Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify finish defects
Able to hear and understand spoken directions
Able to hear warning bells, tones, and alarms (e.g., forklift, horn, telephone, etc.)
