Qualifications and capabilities:


  • 10+ years of professional experience (5+ years of experience in Corporate Finance).

  • Expert level knowledge on financial instruments, key characteristics and dynamics of capital and credit markets in each market territory, region and/or sector.

  • Previous experience in business development, sales and marketing is desired.

  • Ability to effectively and eloquently chair several meetings daily with customers and intermediaries across a large range of different profiles on short notice or with little preparation.

  • Ability to speak and communicate convincingly in front of senior management, customers and larger audiences.

  • Demonstarted experience maintaining active relationships with customers and intermediaries at all levels independently and with minimal oversight.

  • Expert working knowledge of capital markets, the ratings process and has strong analytical skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

  • High autonomy in achieving business objectives.

Education:

Minimum of Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) preferably in finance, accounting, business, economics or public administration

Responsibilities:

The VP, Business Development will oversee relationships with corporate finance issuers, unrated prospects, investment bankers, and financial sponsors. This role includes delivering a strategic business development plan to build client relationships, generate new business, and drive revenue growth. The individual must promote positive relationships, provide proactive customer service, and retain and grow revenues for the US CFG market. This position focuses on high-level strategy and best-in-class customer service. The VP will report directly to the SVP - Head of Business Development for US CFG.


  • Lead strategic Business Development for designated territory, region, or sector, improving and executing business plans.

  • Conduct proactive customer outreach and in-person meetings to update clients on Moody's products and secure new mandates.

  • Champion digital channels to enhance customer engagement and facilitate touchpoints.

  • Become an expert in Moody's product suite, explaining products to market players and peers.

  • Attend industry conferences and events to develop market contacts and key relationships.

  • Monitor market, client, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and propose pricing strategies.

  • Lead extensive discussions with market intermediaries and issuers, negotiating terms and conditions.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve workflow processes, market outreach, and participate in Sustainability initiatives and other projects.

  • Expected to travel up to 40% of the time.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$163,300.00 - [[$236,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
