Vitalant, a mission-driven organization dedicated to saving and improving lives through blood donation, is seeking a Program Manager to lead and oversee a program of interrelated projects. In this role, you'll provide leadership and expertise to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with our life-saving mission. You'll identify potential risks, assess their impact, and collaborate across the organization to establish and refine systems and tools that enhance project management efficiency. As a Program Manager, you'll get to:
Identify individual projects within a program and estimate the resources needed.
Oversee resource sharing across projects to maximize efficiency.
Manage project connections and dependencies to ensure alignment.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to set expectations and coordinate resources.
Develop strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
Define requirements and plan project life cycle deployment.
Work with Project Managers to monitor cost, schedule, and performance, ensuring program success.
Manage program budgets, oversee project budgets, and prepare cost estimates.
Lead teams through organizational change to achieve program goals.
Stay informed on industry regulations and standards, guiding necessary changes.
Build and maintain a network of professional relationships.
Keep up with business and technology trends to enhance processes, tools, and techniques.
Requirements
Knowledge/ Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Knowledge of project management processes and methodologies required.
Knowledge of advanced principles and practices of policy and procedure development required.
Knowledge of advanced methods of program analysis and report preparation required.
Knowledge of advanced records management principles and practices required.
Knowledge of management principles including human resource management, budget administration, negotiation techniques, risk identification, and mitigation, requirements solicitation required.
Knowledge and experience with software development, systems engineering, business process engineering, customer relationship management, technology procurement, contracting, financial management, change management, risk management, and IT service management required.
Licenses/ Certifications
Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification preferred.
Experience
Eight years related experience required. To include:
Two years supervisory experience.
Five years progressively responsible experience in Project Management.
Experience with Information Technology infrastructure and operations required.
Experience in software development, advisory, or professional services preferred.
