Job Description:

Central State University seeks an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as the Director of the Office of Financial Aid. The Director is responsible for the strategic oversight, administration, and continuous improvement of financial aid programs to support student access and success. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while promoting a student-centered approach to financial aid services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily leadership and strategic direction for the Office of Financial Aid, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Oversee the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, including grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, including Title IV financial aid policies, by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and implementing necessary policy adjustments.
  • Ensure reporting on Title IV programs is accurate for external auditing.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with best practices in financial aid administration and enhance the student experience.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate financial aid staff, fostering a culture of professional development and excellence in service.
  • Collaborate with all university departments pertinent to the administration of Title IV to support enrollment management and student retention initiatives.
  • Analyze financial aid data and trends to inform strategic decision-making and enhance student financial wellness.
  • Lead financial literacy programs and initiatives to educate students and families about financial aid options, debt management, and responsible borrowing.
  • Manage financial aid budgets and expenditures, ensuring responsible stewardship of university and external funds.
  • Represent the university at external financial aid meetings, conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Masters degree from an accredited college or university; minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial aid administration, with at least three years in a leadership or management role (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Experience with financial aid management systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms).
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance financial aid operations and student support.
