Responsibilities:
Perform electrical and avionics maintenance, modification, and testing on military and commercial aircraft systems.
Read and interpret wire schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings to support aircraft system installations.
Conduct bonding, resistance, and continuity checks; execute AC/DC power verification.
Install and terminate electrical wiring and components including coaxial cables, quadrax, fiber optics, and shielded cables.
Utilize electrical and precision tools such as environmental crimpers, megohmmeters, multimeters, and bond meters.
Perform Air Data Testing and scheduled maintenance, repairs, modifications, and functional testing of avionics systems.
Document work accurately and maintain compliance with all regulatory and company safety procedures.
Collaborate with leads and subject matter experts to resolve technical discrepancies and meet project timelines.
Maintain clean and organized workspaces following "Clean as You Go" principles.
Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives and maintain required certifications.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
Experience: Minimum 6 years of recent aircraft mechanic experience (within the last 12 months).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Strong experience with aircraft electrical and avionics systems, wiring installation, termination, and testing.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Certification.
Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance protocols (e.g., FOD control, tool control, Human Factors, COSHH).
Prior experience in both commercial and defense aviation environments.
