Launch Vehicle Integration Technician




Merritt Island, FL




Contract Position




$46.62/Hour

Responsibilities:



  • Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster following written procedures.

  • Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.

  • Support the transition from development to production, including first article assemblies.

  • Perform hardware inspections, second-party verifications, and troubleshooting to resolve malfunctions through modification, repair, or maintenance.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and subassembly transportation equipment.

  • Use precision-calibrated tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, and optical measuring instruments.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance safety and efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S, FOD, and ESD standards.

  • Work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends as required.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


Qualifications:




  • Experience: 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or a relevant field.


  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proficiency in at least one of the following: fluids and tubing installation, instrumentation and electrical harness routing, or general aerospace/launch vehicle assembly.

    • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

    • Experience working with Microsoft Office and basic digital tools.




  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 35 lbs.

    • Comfortable working at heights on work stands and lifts.




  • Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or asylee.


  • Preferred Qualifications:


    • Education/Training: Industry certification, trade school training, or a degree in a related field.


    • Leadership: Proven success as a hands-on technical leader.


    • Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:

      • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.

      • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.


      • Technical Skills & Experience:

        • Handling large aerospace components and assembling tight-tolerance structures.

        • New product introduction and manufacturing process optimization.

        • Experience with large-scale aerospace assembly and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


        • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


        • Military Experience is a plus.








Shift Schedule: Friday - Sunday (5am - 5pm)
