Commercial Sourcing Manager, Thermal at Meta in Fremont, California

Job Description:

The Global Technology Hardware Sourcing Team moves fast and leverages key partnerships to drive technical innovation, high quality standards and cost-savings via a customized supply chain. As a Thermal Commercial Sourcing Manager, you will act as the primary commercial contact for interfacing with suppliers, Hardware Engineering, Operations, and Planning. Responsibilities include, but are not be limited to, identification of Thermal solutions availability & options with tradeoffs, and developing & leading sourcing strategies. You will lead the commercial engagements for prototype sourcing and development in support of new product development and introduction. You will be responsible for the deployment of selected solutions, technologies, and supplier management. Additionally, you will be responsible for contracts, negotiations, development models, and the development of global commodity and supply chain strategies.You will partner with Meta's Hardware Engineering teams to develop a business and technology roadmap in support of Meta's Platform goals and objectives and drive sourcing decisions on a global basis.

Commercial Sourcing Manager, Thermal Responsibilities:

• Develop, manage and refresh sourcing strategies and roadmaps for advanced cooling technology and deployment plans.


• Develop and maintain relationships with executive management at core suppliers.


• Provide commodity and/or supplier experience and consulting to design engineering for technology migration and lower TCO.


• Drive supplier proposals and RFQs.


• Support product transfer from advanced investments to mass-production.


• Influence supplier business models, roadmaps, and support to ensure Meta's commercial and technical requirements are met.


• Resolve all commercial queries arising from the quote process and formalize business awards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in supply chain for data center, hyperscalers, cloud service providers, compute, or AI system hardware supply chain, business management.


• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or degree in a related technical or business field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a high tech environment.


• Experience to move seamlessly from strategy to execution and deliver tangible results.


• Experience interfacing with internal and external partners in an often ambiguous and cross-functional environment.


• Background in cost modeling for supply chain and design for value trade-offs.


• Experience partnering with Executive leaders in Mechanical and Thermal suppliers/partners.


• Experience in supplier negotiations and provide review and input for product development and Master Supply Agreements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MSEE or MBA degree.


• Leadership and management experience.


• Experience in Advanced Cooling technologies, e.g Liquid Cooling.

$144,000/year to $201,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
