Reality Labs is seeking Technical Program Manager (TPM) leaders to lead complex cross-functional business outcomes for our current and future products. TPMs operate at the intersection of technical execution and business strategy, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and a variety of cross-functional teams to bring products to market. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager who will play a key role in defining hardware roadmaps, leading cross-functional teams in building complex software platforms in a novel space.This is a highly visible role requiring an experienced leader with technical skills and business acumen, skilled at communicating with all levels of the company. We look for TPMs who care about the products they work on, are team motivators, build cross-functional relationships, and drive the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Software Technical Program Manager, Reality Labs Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of cross-functional initiatives across software, research, core technologies, and business groups to ensure product success.
Set up program structures in ambiguous areas in partnership with organizational leaders, drive long-term organizational efficiency improvements, and manage multiple cross-organizational or company-wide interdependencies.
Proactively builds relationships with organizational leaders and effectively manage and drive communication with leadership on large interdependent programs.
Drive cross-organizational and portfolio partners to own and execute multiple large-scale workstreams to achieve goals
Develop and manage end-to-end technical product solutions, ensuring on-time delivery and owning program execution within a matrix organization.
Drive and influence technical and product strategy, proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies, align priorities, and set direction for a broadly cross-functional area.
Identify and drive improvements in software development processes at scale
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science, Robotics or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical product/program management.
Knowledge of hardware development for early stage devices and product development processes.
Proven experience delivering complex technology programs and/or products from inception to delivery.
Proficiency in understanding user needs, gathering requirements, and defining project scope to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Experience operating independently across multiple teams, with demonstrated critical thinking and thought leadership.
Experience in defining and optimizing engineering processes at scale.
Experience shaping strategy/direction and identifying new opportunities for impact across products, platforms, and programs.
Experience communicating effectively at the executive level and influencing leadership and technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in large scale Research efforts
Significant technical experience in early stage research prototypes and robotics
