An Advanced Composite Lamination Technician II is experienced in producing high-performance molded parts using carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, and high-modulus composite materials. The Advanced Composite Lamination Technician II will fabricate composite parts using vacuum bagging, prepreg, and/or vacuum infusion processes with high precision and craftsmanship. This position also ensures required paperwork and documentation is completed and will assist in improving processes and training less experienced technicians.
As an Advanced Composite Lamination Technician II, you will:
Lay-up into molds using pre-impregnated material or apply liquid resin to materials
Interpret Work Instructions and provide feedback to improve instructions and procedures
Prepare molds for lay-up, inspect and maintain mold surface quality
Verify ply materials and counts are correct before the lamination process
Maintain proper ply orientation sequence during the lay-up process
Prepare vacuum bags following general bagging and debagging procedures
Ensure vacuum integrity on all parts
Train less experienced technicians on the finer details of the process
To be considered as anAdvanced Composite Lamination Technician Il, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of experience in lamination and/or in the fabrication of composite parts.
Demonstrated expertise in Prepreg and autoclave operation and/or Vacuum Infusion, Wet-lay Vacuum Bagging, and Gel coating
Demonstrated willingness to work overtime and some weekends
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions, ensure part conformity and a desire to continuously improve
Demonstrated ability to laminate new parts including the department’s most complex parts
Demonstrated ability to work with other Team members to improve quality and output
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to ensure quality standards are met and set an example in good attendance and output
Demonstrated ability consistently follow strict policies and safety guidelines
