Summary:
Provides computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Manages electronic Imaging exam for timely interpretation, oversees interpretation workflow for Interpreting physicians. Performs audits for any un-interpreted electronic exams, or for any electronic files incorrectly stored.Performs post-procedural duties including room clean up, and restocking supplies. Assists with inventory control.Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or neuro chair to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
Assists staff with lift assists and repositioning of patients when needed.
Communicates findings of Imaging exams to various caregivers, including verifying the transmission of critical findings.Creates electronic files for release of information to authorized individuals, including legal requests received via subpoena, using properly executed forms.Greet patients, verify prescriptions, providers and schedule patients as needed; communicate with departments to facilitate efficient care.Handles workflow in clinical imaging areas. Assists with coordinating patient flow to department, prioritizing and distributing work to technical staff under the guidance of leadership.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: No previous CT experience required.One year of radiology technologist experience is preferred. Other Information: Registered as a Technologist (RT) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as required by state law. Registered in computed tomography (CT) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year of hire date.Additional Education Info: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
