Position Title: Instructor - Upward Bound (Temporary, Part-Time, up to 19.5 hours per week)
Department: Desert Vista Campus
Rate of Pay: $26.38/hour
Closed Date: April 25, 2025; 5:00 PM Arizona Time
Position Summary:
The students attend academic classes specifically designed for them during the academic year and during our summer component as well.
We are seeking to staff the following classes:
Science
Math (All levels)
Foreign Languages
Social Sciences
English/Writing
We are especially interested in individuals that have extensive knowledge of standardized tests
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends. Tentative days/hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 12:00pm & 12:25pm - 3:25 pm (days/hours will vary depending on assignment).
Continued employment in the position is contingent upon continued funding through designated external sources. This grant is set to expire on 06/30/2025.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for teaching a diverse population of high school students in various non-credit enrichment classes
Prepare instructional materials, lesson plans, and classroom presentations
Develop, review, and revise curriculum; assess, evaluate and document students' skills and progress
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and
Two years of teaching experience
or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
