Job Summary | Inventory and categorize current record types as identified by the State University Model Records Retention Schedule, excluding patient health records. Partner with departmental leaders to gather necessary information related to records (electronic, paper, film, etc.). Assist in the development of classification and storage processes. Assist in the development of enterprise and departmental policies regarding records retention, destruction and archiving requirements. Develop and provide instruction on record classification, retention, destruction and archiving per the regulatory requirements. Communicate updates and changes to policies, retention schedule and regulations via newsletters, reminders and/or website updates. This position is very analytical and will ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are being met. Additionally, candidates will read, understand, and edit contractual language. Research, communication and collaboration skills are required to work with other healthcare systems complying with this state law. Information will then be compiled into Excel spreadsheets and tracked. Candidates should have knowledge of how to execute tasks in a software platform. |
