Job Description:

Senior Accountant




Responsibilities:




Project Accounting:

• Oversee accounting activities for designated projects, including job cost data capture, billings, and sales agreements/contracts.


• Collaborate with project management to ensure costs are recorded accurately and revenue is recognized in accordance with IFRS 15.


• Work with project management to ensure financial project accounting is precise, comparing monthly project forecasts and investigating variances to budget.


• Contribute to ad-hoc project analysis as needed.


• Occasional travel may be required.

Regional Accounting:

• Ensure financial results comply with IFRS standards and internal policies and procedures.


• Analyze and investigate variances to budget and prior month for indirect job costs, shop costs, equipment costs, and general administrative costs.


• Prepare period-end accounting entries and maintain accounting records in accordance with company policies and internal controls, including necessary reconciliations.


• Support the corporate monthly close process.


• Provide support and explanations for audit requests.


• Address other ad-hoc inquiries as they arise.

Qualifications:

• 
  Three to five years of relevant experience.
  


• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.


• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.


• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines.


• Advanced Excel skills, including experience with formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP) and pivot tables.


• Solid experience with IFRS, accounting policies, and account reconciliations.
