JOB SUMMARY:



This position will provide administrative support to Danville's Freezer / Shipping Team. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain efficient organization is required. Must have excellent communication skills and maintain accurate documentation. Assists in inventory control and product flow to distribution centers and customers. Will assist with other duties as needed.



DUTIES:



Assist department manager and supervisors in directing activities of dock workers and yard drivers. Manage freezer and trailer inventories. Coordinate both outbound and inbound freight. Print bills of lading, manifests, and warehouse labels. Maintain organized filing for all shipping documentation. Assist in procedural documentation and training. Create freight orders and perform transactions in SAP and other applications. Fill in on other tasks and duties within the department, as needed. Interact with various teams cross-functionally, both internally and externally.



QUALIFICATIONS:



Prefer at least 1 year of experience in a clerical admin position.


Direct experience in a shipping / warehouse environment preferred.


Must have strong computer skills and be able to speak to and demonstrate understanding of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint on an intermediate level.


Must be able to speak to work involving database downloads and spreadsheet analysis.


Clear communication via phone, in person, and in writing. Good interpersonal skills.


Proficient in basic math to perform estimates and load filling.


Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and speak to related experience in such an environment.


Must be detail oriented and speak to examples where detailed work was performed.


Must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and give examples of such.


Must have excellent attendance and dependability, with a stable work history.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



1. Able to lift to 50 lbs. periodically.


4. Able to tolerate extremely cold conditions when working in and around freezers.


5. Willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.



ADDITIONAL:



The nature of this work involves regular exposure to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Temperatures in the freezers are extremely cold. The work environment on and around the Shipping Dock can be damp and wet. Steel-toe boots are required. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, hair nets, hard hats and ear protection are provided.
