SUMMARY:


This position will be responsible for maximizing optimum USDA grade application and merchandising of beef carcasses. Duties will include but not limited to proper merchandising and the selling and pricing of all beef carcasses produced at the facility with attention to optimizing product mix, managing departmental costs, shrink loss claims, and satisfying internal and external customer needs while maintaining focus on corporate profits.


This position will be responsible for accurate grading camera and reporting of issues. Also the individual will be expected to work closely with scheduling to manage PA and plant inventories. This position also requires the ability to work across departmental lines such as Operations, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Cattle Procurement to achieve departmental and corporate goals.



REQUIREMENTS:



Education: Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor degree or equivalent; broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field.


Experience: 5 plus years of prior carcass merchandising experience required; meat judging experiences a plus.


Computer Skills: Basic Microsoft PC systems; knowledge of plant operating systems preferred.


Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills required; must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all team members.


Special Skills: Must be detail oriented and capable of independent process improvement thought; will be responsible for adapting the department to rapidly changing business situations.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Will supervise management, management support, and hourly Team Members to achieve departmental and corporate goals.


Travel: Non-routine: Grade Review trips, Training, and Relief work or other travel as assigned.
