Responsibilities: • Assist in clone QC screening efforts, such as enzymatic digestions, PCR, and sequencing, to ensure high accuracy of sequence across the entire vector. • Ensure high quality standards and attention to detail are implemented to enable on-time delivery of vectors. • Apply problem solving and critical thinking skills to address bottlenecks in the vector production pipeline. • Execute and influence experimental plans to support scientific strategies across R&D. • Apply experience and innovation to drive continuous optimization in processes that support the team's functions.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biology, or any biological discipline requiring an understanding of molecular techniques. • Minimum one year of experience working at a career level in a commercial or academic molecular biology laboratory. • Demonstrated expertise in standard molecular techniques, such as bacterial transformation, plasmid extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis. • Experience and knowledge keeping accurate scientific records via LIMs and laboratory notebooks. • Experience and knowledge in laboratory safe practices, including use of PPE, SDSs, and proper handling and disposal of laboratory waste. • Experience preparing next generation sequencing libraries considered a plus.
