JR145548 Community Relations Coordinator



The Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for serving as a liaison between Carelon Behavioral Health and key community partner groups and providers in the region, for leading development and writing of federal block grant programs, for managing community behavioral health committees, including the Behavioral Health Advisory Board and Family Youth and System Partner Round Table (FYSPRT) that emphasize consumer and community participation, and for engaging with providers, managing provider contracts and helping to resolve provider issues. Additional duties are related to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations and provider offices, along with performing other activities that enhance Carelon Behavioral Health's responsiveness to stakeholders and presence in the community and advance our mission of helping people live their lives to the fullest potential.



Location: This position is based in Washington, with a preference for candidates in Clark, Klickitat, and Skamania counties.



How will you make an impact:



  • Organize, lead, and facilitate monthly local community forums Carelon Behavioral Health is responsible for administering, such as the Behavioral Health Advisory Board, and FYSPRT. Ensure member composition meets requirements and recruit/retain membership as needed.


  • Develop local block grant plan and associated deliverables in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Advisory Board, community, and contracted providers.


  • Develop a sophisticated understanding of publicly funded behavioral health services in the state of Washington at the local, state and federal levels to inform the strategic development of key programs and make sound recommendations.


  • Support the Account Partnership Director in executing strategic activities and account goals by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and responding to requests.


  • Maintain quality service by monitoring standards, advising supervisor of potential problems, collecting and analyzing information, and preparing reports.


  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.


  • Share Carelon Behavioral Health's mission to help people live their lives to the fullest potential throughout the communities we service.


  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to build and maintain strong community partner relationships.


  • Manage and oversee the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of objectives.





Minimum requirements:



  • Requires a BA/BS in communications or a related field; 1 year of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Advanced organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.


  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.


  • Advanced interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.


  • Ability to analyze program requirements and regulations.


  • Ability to demonstrate excellent judgment and exercise attention to process and detail.


  • Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills.


  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel including running analytical reports and summarizing information, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe.


  • Self-directed with the ability to recognize and capitalize upon opportunities to promote Carelon Behavioral Health's programs and services in many different venues.


  • Experience working in community or behavioral health.


  • Experience working in a deadline driven environment and demonstrating organization skills with prioritizing several deliverables.


  • Experience conducting presentations, event and meeting management, and performing other activities in an effort to maintain and establish positive relationships with key community partners.




For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $65,500 to $78,600.
