Equipment Mechanic I - II

The Delaware Department of Transportation’s Maintenance & Operations, North District is seeking Equipment Mechanics at multiple levels, I-II.  These positions are for first level and intermediate level mechanics reporting to a technical supervisor.  Assignments require evaluation and analysis and are carried out in accordance with standard trade practices.  These positions diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, make determinations of problems and effectively repairs a variety of vehicles and equipment, which may be unique to the agency, including: pick-up trucks with diesel engines; small tools, 2-stroke engines and equipment including chain saws, lawn mowers, weedeaters; as well as heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment with air brakes and hydraulic systems. CLD required within 90 days of hire.
