As an Associate for Webster Bank's Healthcare Sponsor Finance Group, you will be responsible for underwriting new cash flow and private equity backed commercial loans as well as portfolio management activities for select healthcare companies. This position includes all aspects of the underwriting process such as performing due diligence and preparing internal credit approval documents, as well as portfolio management responsibilities including completion of required portfolio reviews, manage ongoing financial performance of Borrowers and processing incremental credit extensions. Potential candidates at this level are initiating and building the skills required to underwrite and manage leveraged loan transactions and will be a meaningful contributor to Webster's growing healthcare leveraged finance team. Position would be hybrid and based in either Stamford, CT or Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include: (i) spearheading the due diligence process for new cash flow transactions, inclusive of financial due diligence, and leading diligence activities, (ii) preparing pre-screen memos and credit approval documents for presentation to investment committee, (iii) preparing, reviewing and sensitizing financial models, (iv) organizing and managing the closing process on new transactions, and (v) managing and monitoring of portfolio accounts.
There is opportunity for increased responsibility as the Associate progresses from execution and portfolio support to eventually leading key elements of the transaction execution process.
Throughout the underwriting and portfolio management processes the Associate will interact with multiple stakeholders. You will interact with sponsor coverage teams, credit professionals, capital markets, private equity sponsors, company management, and investment bankers, as well as legal counsel, loan closers and operations personnel.
