Description & Requirements

Join Our Team and Make a Difference!

Are you looking for an impactful role where you finish the workday knowing you helped someone? Whether you are part of our care coordination team or playing a supporting role, the work our colleagues do every day enables us to collectively reach our mission of getting people the care they need when they need it. By staying committed to our core values of Think Big, Go Fast, Deliver Awe, and Win Together we can positively impact the lives of the injured workers we serve and get them back to the things that matter most in life.

Salary Range:

This compensation range considers a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is not adjusted for geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. At One Call, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

What We Provide in Return for Your Commitment to Our Mission
We offer a vast array of benefits to help support the whole you, including:

  • Remote Work: We are a remote-first company and almost all positions receive the flexibility of working from home.

  • Generous Time Off: Besides 8 company holidays and 2 personal days every year, all colleagues receive a minimum of 18 days of paid time off.

  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Including medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance; 401(k) matching program; and company-paid life insurance and short and long-term disability coverage.

  • Supportive Services: Just like our colleagues get injured workers the care they need when they need it, we want to do the same for our colleagues in their time of need. We offer a Colleague Assistance Program that provides free counseling and financial services, and our One Call Foundation, a non-profit arm of our company, provides colleagues financial assistance during times of unexpected hardships.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Product Manager is responsible for managing the technical investment to align with the needs of the organization, clients, providers, and injured workers. This role works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their technical needs and what drives those needs. Technical Product Managers transform needs into technical projects by identifying requirements that meet those needs, along with costs, values, and risks. The team works with leadership and stakeholders to prioritize and organize all the potential projects into roadmaps and backlogs based on the return on investment, feasibility, resource availability, risks, and organizational priorities. For approved projects, Technical Product Managers collaborate with Product Designers, Project Managers, and technical teams to ensure the successful design and delivery. They are responsible for gathering, drafting, and validating business requirements, prioritizing features and functions, and monitoring post-deliverable success metrics to ensure the project meets or exceeds expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigate new technical efforts, projects, and offerings for definition and viability, identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and identifying high-level value, costs, risks, and other project-critical nuances.

  • Build business cases for viable technical projects and facilitate strategic and/or tactical go/no-go decisions for investment and prioritization of new technical efforts, projects, and offerings.

  • Maintain and communicate technical product and solution roadmaps (e.g., scheduled projects) and prioritized backlogs (e.g., yet-to-be-scheduled projects).

  • Monitor and communicate existing and planned investments within the area(s) of ownership, ensuring that the roadmap is within the expected budget and facilitating strategic and/or tactical budget decisions as required.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned roadmaps and backlogs - including product/solution direction, market strategy, priorities, stakeholders, technical teams, challenges and risks, and dependencies.

  • Draft and validate business requirements for projects/programs, defining the minimum and stretch requirements the project/program must achieve to be successful.

  • Work with the Product Designers and technical teams to ensure business requirements are fully understood and built accordingly.

  • Manage issues and escalations during project development, such as reprioritizing or redefining requirements due to feasibility issues or facilitating a go/no-go decision if priorities and/or budgets shift.

  • Monitor technical and industry trends in the area(s) of ownership - both independently and through collaboration with internal and external experts as appropriate. Identify opportunities and threats and make strategic recommendations.

  • May conduct focus groups, surveys, or other customer/provider/user-facing data gathering exercises to identify, design, and/or validate roadmaps, projects, and/or strategies.

  • May represent One Call as the subject matter expert for the area(s) of ownership in external and/or public settings, such as during sales events, industry conferences, or customer meetings.

  • Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert in the area(s) of ownership to the technical/developer community.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or business-related field, or equivalent education, training, and relevant work experience.

  • Five (5) years of experience within Information Technology with product management related to software development or delivery, software administration, user experience, or in-depth experience using or supporting users of software solutions.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong working knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile.

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong conflict management, negotiation, and resolution skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and prioritization.

  • Ability to learn and understand the needs of our customers and our market sector within healthcare.

  • Ability to learn from, interact with, and interview Product Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Ability to understand the high-level strategic vision of the company.

  • Ability to engage with developers/engineers, stakeholders, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.

  • Ability to communicate technical solutions to both internal and external audiences.

  • Ability to set priorities and resolve issues in the initial stages.

  • Ability to become an expert in functionalities, benefits, and capabilities of products.

  • Ability to evaluate key metrics to optimize performance and work with product management analytics tools.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.

  • Demonstrates track record for managing successful projects from feature definition to project deployment.

  • Ability to work in an environment that aligns with the company's diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging standards.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Demonstrate our core values of Think Big, Go Fast, Deliver Awe, and Win Together.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position will be performed in the colleague's home. Work-from-home requirements include the colleague's ability to set up computer equipment within their home office.

  • This job is primarily sedentary and may involve repetitive motions; the colleague must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, operate a computer and other office equipment, assess information and files stored electronically, and converse/exchange accurate information with others, simultaneously.
