Purpose
This auxiliary supervisor collaborates with the lead supervisors to oversee task prioritization and ensure effective completion of duties, with a focus on maintaining entire melt shop safety, quality, production efficiency, and reliability. This position supports the supervisors' shift goals and allows the supervisors to spend adequate time on the shop floor. This position will be on a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
Assist in incident investigation including documenting in Maximo, creating 5-whys, follow-through on corrective actions
Service Requests and Work Order Initiation
Document Alternate Work Procedures Used and Controls Applied
Assist Supervisor with entries, edits, and approvals with timekeeping in Kronos
Following up on hourly training completions to remain in compliance
Responsible for system search and call-in of parts for breakdowns
ZIP (zero-incident planning) forms: follow-ups, proofread, flag potential deficiencies for supervisor
Assist in monitoring maintenance plans and jobs, coordinating the necessary information or workforce to ensure their completion
Support the preparation of shift reports and facilitate seamless shift handovers
Support safety compliance efforts by documenting regular checks of personal protective equipment (PPE), audit findings and corrective actions.
Technical Skills
Excellent organizational, follow-up and communication skills
Knowledge of Word, PowerBI and Maximo applications
Ability to work cross-functionally with salary and union employees
Experience in a heavy industrial environment preferred
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree in business, technology or related with 2 years of experience in manufacturing, supervisory experience preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in business, technology or related with no experience required.
