Operations Manager
Location: South Salt Lake City, Utah
Reports to: Plant Manager
Team: 30+ employees, 5-6 direct reports
Overview:
Lead all aspects of operations, including supply chain management, inventory, manufacturing (fermentation technology and chemical processing), finishing, packaging, and order fulfillment. Approximately 85% of sales are international.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee production, process control, quality improvement, and productivity.
- Manage material availability, cost control, and compliance with HSE regulations.
- Handle employee relations, performance management, and training.
- Control budget and ensure code of conduct compliance.
- Propose and implement production process improvements.
- Foster a culture based on company values and high employee satisfaction.
- Develop organizational capability through engagement processes and training programs.
- Limited travel for supplier validation and partner capability support.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in chemical processing fermentation operations.
- Proven leadership managing a diverse manufacturing team.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and environmental regulations.
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and lead change initiatives.
- BS degree in engineering required.
