We are seeking a highly motivated AI/ML Data Scientist Intern to assist in converting an existing RPG codebase used for product configuration and BOM (Bill of Materials) definition into an AI/ML-driven agent. This role is ideal for a college student with a strong foundation in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software development.
Requirements:
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyze and understand existing RPG code used for product configuration and BOM logic.
Develop AI/ML models to automate and optimize product configuration and BOM generation.
Design and implement machine learning workflows to replicate business logic from RPG-based rules.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and usability of the AI/ML agent.
Document processes, model performance, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Experience with Python and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.).
Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and statistical modeling.
Familiarity with databases, SQL, and structured data processing.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with legacy codebases.
Essential/Preferred Skills:
Experience with RPG programming or familiarity with legacy business applications.
Knowledge of product configuration models, rule-based AI, or BOM structures.
Background in natural language processing (NLP) or reinforcement learning (RL).
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
