SUNY Maritime College invites applications for a Visiting Instructor of Mathematics to teach courses at the Calculus II level and below, with the possibility of leading recitation sessions. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, effective teaching strategies, and the ability to support students in foundational mathematics courses. Responsibilities include delivering lectures, conducting assessments, holding office hours, and potentially facilitating recitation sessions to reinforce key concepts. Typical students are majoring in engineering, marine transportation, marine environmental science, international transportation and trade, or maritime studies, with the majority simultaneously pursuing a U.S. Coast Guard license.

Classification: The Visiting Instructor position will be a non-tenure track, one-semester appointment UUP position (August - December 2025). The anticipated salary will be $29,000.00 to $31,500.00 for the contract and includes an outstanding benefits package (for more information, please see the UUP Full-Time Benefits-at-a-Glance). Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Review of applications will commence immediately and conclude when the position is filled.
Special Notes: Fair Labor Standard Acts (FLSA) Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external searches to occur simultaneously.
