The SIU School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL seeks full-time qualified Dental Assistant I candidates to assist dental students, faculty, and residents in providing comprehensive patient care.

What You Will Do
Enjoy hands-on experience and exposure to a variety of dental procedures and practices
Preparation of equipment for dental treatments, ensuring the sterilization of dental instruments, and maintaining accurate patient records
Stock dental operatories with required disposable supplies and perform daily inspections to check operatories for any unreturned instruments, materials, or equipment
Provide students with necessary materials and equipment for clinical sessions
Contribute to creating and updating inventory logs
Aid in managing the intake and return of cases to and from external dental labs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Ability to perform functions of administrative and clerical procedures managing files and records, designing forms, and managing inventory
Knowledge of basic business software to input data, access information, and/or create materials and documents
Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
Ability to remain continuously on task for several hours while sitting, standing, or moving
Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, confidentiality, and respect when speaking with patients, peers, faculty, and staff
