We are seeking a strategic Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, managing benefit implementations, designing efficient processes, managing a benefits administration platform, planning strategically, and communicating with and supporting employees. The ideal candidate will have a background in benefits administration, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional employee experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Tasks: Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to employee benefits. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits.
Benefits Implementations & Project Management: Lead the implementation of new benefit programs, including vendor coordination and communication with internal stakeholders. Oversee related project management tasks to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Process Design: Develop and optimize benefits administration processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to design and implement a benefits strategy that aligns with company goals and employee needs, while maintaining an awareness of regulatory changes, trends, and other developments that impact benefits.
Employee Support: Act as a point of contact for employees, addressing questions and resolving issues related to benefits programs.
Communication: Develop employee-facing communications to ensure that benefits programs are communicated clearly and effectively to employees. Plan and execute benefits educational sessions, webinars and workshops for employees. Deliver new employee orientation sessions.
Audits: Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring benefits records and processes meet compliance standards.
Benefits Administration Platform Management: Develop a strong understanding of the company's benefits administration platform, including inbound and outbound data flows, benefit plan configuration and life event configuration in the system.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration preferred.
Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations preferred (e.g., PPACA, ERISA, COBRA).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
