Shift: Shift 1



five 8-hour daily shifts OR four 10 hours days with admin time. Typically, 80-90% patient care. Inpatient time scheduled for 1 hour a day to support WOCN's/wound care patient needs. No onsite scheduled weekends or holidays. Weekends/holidays/off-shits when clinic is open: Need availability for covering own patient care needs during clinic hours OR par take in a patient care schedule coverage plan between APNP's covering both FMFH and FWBH needs. Committee, research opportunities as well as staff education and competency teaching/education and validation related to wound and ostomy procedures.




Job Summary:



Serves in role of Nurse Practitioner (NP) consultant, educator, researcher and manager of the day-to-day operations of the outpatient Wound Care Program. The NP is an advanced practice nurse and is subject to the rules and regulations of the State. The NP has prescriptive authority per the State of Wisconsin and performs the functions of examining, assessing, planning and implementing the health care of patients in collaboration and under the general supervision of licensed physicians. Other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:



A minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience is required. (Some previous experience in wound care of patients is also required.) Three to five years of wound care experience is preferred. Previous leadership experience is preferred.



EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:



Master's degree from an accredited Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Program is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:



Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients and families, providing caring and understanding, as well as work effectively with MD's RN's, and other hospital disciplines. Ability to view patient need within the context of the entire individual as well as keep an eye on detail in performing professional nursing care for patients and families involved in a life-altering situation.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:



Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Current State of Wisconsin License as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire. Medicaid and Medicare (PECOS) enrollment is required within 3 months of hire.
