The Role




The HII Corporate Manager, Benefits Administration and Vendor Relations reports to the Director, Benefits Strategy and Engagement and is responsible for the effective delivery and execution of employee health welfare and retirement benefits plans and programs that engage and advantage employees and their dependents consistent with the company's business strategy, applicable laws and regulation, and the contractual obligations and performance objectives applicable to the company's plan and services providers.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Provides managerial oversight to vendor responsibilities for participant access and experience, enrollments, claims and services processing, record keeping, eligibility management, plan administration, administrative compliance, and consulting. Monitors, audits and ensures compliance with contractual requirements and achievement of vendor performance objectives.

2. Manages the solicitation of bids from benefit pan providers and administrator's including contract renewals, ensuring completeness and adequacy of response. Participates in the selection of vendors, and negotiation of contracts, including change orders and amendments. Provides input to the company's benefits contracting strategy.

3. Manages assigned benefits customer service and administration staff in the engagement, education and assistance of employees and plan participants to ensure employees and dependents are actively engaged in, are accountable for, and fully benefit from their selection and use of the benefit and wellness plans and programs offered. Provides subject matter and managerial expertise to the design and execution of management, employee and dependent engagement, education and communication tools and services.

4. Manages the review of and response to escalated issues. Serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert in the interpretation of plan document, requirements and applicable policies. Administers applicable appeals processes, and coordinates with human resources and legal staff, as appropriate.

5. Develops, implements and administers administrative processes, policies and procedures for the effective benefits administration and customer service, including and data and documentation management requirements. Keeps abreast of benefit strategies, plan designs and technology, as well as all applicable company polices and government regulations. Works with division and subsidiary personnel to ensure related systems and processes (HRIS, payroll, etc.) are effectively coordinated.




Must Have




Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience OR

Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
