How you will make an impact:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a motivated individual to fill a role as a Staff Engineer, Electrical Systems. Being a part of the Single-use division, R&D team, you will have the opportunity to engage in the development of equipment and systems used by the manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines in the industry.
What you will do:
Design, development, testing, and implementation of systems and solutions based on requirements and objectives.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers, to define system requirements and specifications.
Conduct system analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for successful integration and operation.
Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain system architectures, models, and documentation.
Lead all aspects of system testing, verification, and validation to ensure quality and performance standards.
How you will get here:
Education
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering or related field with 8+ years' experience, or a master's degree with 6+ years' experience; of hands-on electrical system design, product design, product development, and manufacturing experience.
Experience
Strong experience in electrical system/hardware design
Proven record handling vendors, contract manufacturers, and design firms.
Value engineering, process development, should-cost modeling experience, DFA/DFM/DFx experience, and PI&D drawing creation.
Experience dealing with regulatory compliance of electromechanical devices by third party agencies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proficiency in PCBA and CAD Design software; Altium, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills, customer relations, and technical writing.
Self-motivated and can work within a global organization.
