This role is based at our sites in Fairlawn and Bridgewater, NJ, supporting our Laboratory Chemicals Division. These sites maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) certifications, manufacturing reagents and chemicals used for a breadth of applications from life sciences research to drug discovery and manufacturing.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Control Quality Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving cultural change at our locations by ensuring the highest standards of quality and continuous improvement across all processes. The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering teams to oversee and enhance our quality control measures, ensuring compliance and efficiency.




A Day in the Life:




  • Be responsible for Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) processes.


  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering teams to assist with containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action.


  • Conduct effectiveness checks for CAPAs to ensure lasting solutions.


  • Assist with RMA investigations and provide accurate feedback to customers.


  • Handle customer complaints and ensure resolution.


  • Monitor and measure critical metrics related to quality performance.


  • Present findings and insights during Management Review meetings to drive continuous improvement.


  • Conduct training sessions on internal procedures to ensure staff consistency to quality standards.


  • Manage the disposition of nonconformances and discrepancy material reports.


  • Lead all aspects of the MRB process, tracking and trending nonconformance and MRB data to identify areas for improvement.


  • Represent Quality in product development teams/projects.


  • Collaborate with Engineering groups or QA Manager to develop and implement quality plans, risk management, PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, and part qualification checklists (PQC).


  • Conduct design verification and process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) to ensure product quality and compliance.


  • Understand and apply statistical methods to monitor and improve process capability (cpk).


  • Lead SCAR processes, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action.




Keys to Success:






Education




  • Bachelor of Science degree required. Preferably in Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.



Experience



  • 2-4 years of experience in a quality engineering, or process chemistry role required. Preferably within a manufacturing environment.




Knowledge, Skills, Abilities




  • Strong knowledge of CAPA, RMA, important metrics, nonconformance management, and MRB processes.


  • Expertise in quality tools and methodologies such as PFMEA, PPAP, and process validation.


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams.


  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and process capability (cpk).
