Fugro is seeking a talented and motivated Transportation Data Analyst to perform pavement engineering tasks on an innovative research project managed by the State Materials Office (SMO) of the Florida Department of Transportation in Gainesville, Florida.


This exciting position provides the unique opportunity for a qualified individual to be involved in the experimental projects assigned to the FDOT's test roads, from the experimental design to the creation of the database, collection and update of pavement monitoring and instrumentation data, and data analyses. The selected professional will participate in experiment design, instrumentation planning and implementation, construction materials sampling and testing, database planning and operations, monitoring data collection, data analyses, and investigations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Use prescribed methods to perform project tasks under the supervision of an experienced engineer.


• Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of detailed steps or processes.


• Assist project professionals with project execution including coordination of field exploration, assigning laboratory testing, and performing analyses.


• Develop and suggest additional research needs and/or consulting services.


• Be available to work on-site. A long-term commitment to the project is preferred.


• Be comfortable working with individuals of different backgrounds and areas of expertise.


• Document work performed, lessons learned, research findings, and present findings to various stakeholders.


• Complete assignments in a timely and effective manner within project budget and schedule.


• Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures.


• Communicate tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing.


• Maintain effective work relations with those encountered during employment.

Job Requirements:

• Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions


• Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and 0-3 years of experience in data collection, data analysis, data mining, and data quality control


• 
  Diverse engineering skillset and knowledge of pavement response and performance aspects.
  


• 
  Experience with rigid pavement analysis, design, instrumentation, construction, and testing is preferred.
  


• Experience with the planning and implementation of research investigations is preferred.


• Understand advanced technical requirements and current data acquisition procedures.


• Stay abreast of current professional practices, periodicals, and technological advancements.


• Maintain meaningful involvement in professional and/or technical organizations.


• Be a dedicated and hard-working individual who is eager to learn.


• Effective verbal and written communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with others to achieve desired results.


• Ability to write reports and business correspondence, present information and ideas, and respond to questions clearly and concisely.


• Practical knowledge of college-level calculus, geometry, statistics, and other related mathematical disciplines.


• Advanced knowledge of technology, including standard office and engineering software and equipment.


• Continuously improving effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability in performing assigned tasks.


• 
  Travel requirements up to 50% for this job opportunity.
