Candidate Requirements
8+ years of experience in datasets management, preferably in the oil and gas industry, or other sectors that compile databases from diverse data formats.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
Implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to integrate geological data from various internal and external sources into centralized data repositories from active lab research.
Strong understanding of database concepts and approaches such as SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
Strong ArcGIS or other GIS software skills, including data analysis, mapping, presentation, and web-based applications (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise).
Experience with Azure and familiarity with services such as Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or Google Cloud Dataflow.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability and high attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Masters Degree in Geological Sciences or Chemistry with additional studies in Computer Science.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of data from diverse sources.
Develop and implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data from ongoing geoscience research
Monitor data pipeline performance and health, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure uninterrupted data flow and availability.
Co-developing APIs, geospatial web applications and dashboards for internal and external audiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, geologists, land personnel, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, evaluate and recommend new tools and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of data pipelines.

This is an in-office role in Columbus, OH. Applicants may also be considered in our Denver office. Koloma supports flexible schedules and remote work where practical, but maintaining our strong culture, focus, and momentum requires team members to be in-office for at least 80% of working hours.
