Job Description:

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our team at our Danvers Global HQ location. The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of innovative products that will continue to grow McCue's business. This position will play a key role in the McCue product development team and will require a self-motivated, creative, and detail-oriented team member.

Key Results:
  1. Develop and launch innovative products with leading functionality, compelling value, and strong aesthetics.
  2. Enhance and improve existing product lines, creating line extensions and custom applications to reduce production costs and increase functionality.
  3. Provide engineering support and expertise to customers, sales, and operations teams for new and existing products.
  4. Ensure the quality and consistency of products through detailed drawings, specifications, and engineering change notices.
  5. Effectively manage and complete projects within the designated timelines and budgets.


Key Activities:
  1. Design, prototype, and test new products to ensure they meet functional and aesthetic standards.
  2. Improve and optimize existing products, focusing on cost reduction and enhanced functionality.
  3. Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for production and customer documentation.
  4. Build, assemble, and evaluate prototypes to validate designs before production investments.
  5. Partner with suppliers to deliver ready-for-manufacturing designs on time and within budget.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and problem-solving efforts.
  7. Travel to customer sites and supplier meetings as technical engineering support for new product development.

  1. Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production.
  2. Continuously improve and optimize existing products.
  3. Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams and customers.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for all product designs and modifications.
  5. Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful product launches.


Critical Factors for Success:
  1. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and other 3D rendering programs.
  2. Ability to create detailed technical drawings and follow best drafting practices.
  3. Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  4. Effective problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking.
  5. Strong communication and collaboration skills, contributing to a dynamic and creative team environment.


Reporting Structure and Location:
  • Reports to: Product Development Manager
  • Location: Danvers, MA (Hybrid)
  • Travel: 20-25%
