Cooper Construction is seeking an experienced Industrial Estimator to join our Preconstruction Team as a Senior Preconstruction Manager. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all estimates for accuracy and accountability. The Senior Preconstruction Manager will coordinate with project management and develop relationships with subcontractors for future bidding. This role will specifically focus on design / build opportunities.
Principal Responsibilities
Prepare estimates conceptually utilizing general ideas and plans established by clients in both competitive and negotiated markets.
Prepare quantity take-offs and estimate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required to meet the provisions of the contract.
Solicit and review quotes from vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.
Reviews preliminary project general conditions, construction equipment requirements and projected cost and develops final project general conditions for review with Management.
Assist Management with final determination of successful subcontractors and major equipment vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks.
Build effective relationships with co-workers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Building Science/ Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred
Between 8 to 20 years' experience in an estimating role
Experience working in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam (or similar takeoff software)
Experience in Design/Build a plus
Experience in Warehouse/Distribution/Industrial type projects
