Internship Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025 in a paid position. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of our company by generating new business leads and working with existing clients. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in the healthcare/clinical research industry.
Responsibilities:
Identify and research potential clients (pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, research institutions) through various channels, including online databases, and industry publications.
Develop and implement lead generation strategies, including targeted email campaigns, social media outreach, and content marketing initiatives.
Qualify leads based on pre-defined criteria and maintain accurate records of all lead generation activities in our CRM system.
Collaborate with the business development team to refine lead generation strategies and identify new opportunities for growth.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends.
Participate in business development meetings and contribute to strategic planning sessions.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Willing and able to work out of Charlottesville, VA office at least once a week.
Strong interest in the healthcare/clinical research industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Self-motivated and results-oriented.
