Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the development and execution of WSFS's technology strategy, aligning it with the company's strategic goals. The CTO will manage infrastructure design, application development, service management, and vendor relations, with a focus on technological innovation in financial services. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership to drive technology solutions that improve efficiency, security, and competitiveness.



This position requires on-site work 5 days a week out of our Wilmington, DE office with occasional travel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the CIO to make technology decisions that align with company strategy, objectives, and budget, including evaluating return on investment.


• Discover, test, and implement emerging technologies to enhance business agility and competitive advantage.


• Contribute to the company's business strategy.


• Communicate technology strategy clearly with partners, vendors, and associates, leveraging feedback to make necessary adjustments.


• Define service levels and ensure KPIs are met through efficient use of technology.


• Oversee technology architecture and infrastructure, ensuring functionality, security, and efficiency.


• Partner with InfoSec to protect proprietary data and prevent system failures.


• Lead infrastructure management, network communications, application development, and service management to support business goals.


• Assess and manage vendor relationships, including overseeing contracts for IT services, software, telecommunications, and equipment.


• Serve as an internal technology consultant to business units, providing expert advice and guidance.


• Lead and mentor the technology team, setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring the team has the necessary skills to meet company objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in technology leadership.


• At least 5 years in a senior IT leadership role, with specific expertise in cloud/hybrid cloud environments.


• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.


• Extensive technological expertise and forward-thinking industry knowledge.


• Proven team management and leadership skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.


• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.


• Experience in financial services (e.g., banking, wealth management, asset management) is preferred.


• Strong facilitation, influencing, and change management skills.


• Ability to work in-person out of our Wilmington, DE office 5 days a week.


• Ability to travel within the WSFS Bank footprint within the Greater Philadelphia region as needed.
