Aegis Aerospace is seeking a skilled DOORS NG, Requirements Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
The Period of Performance (POP) is through 30 June 2025 but will most likely be extended through March 2026 or beyond. This is an onsite role initially with a 9x80 (9,9,9,9,8- 1st week, 9,9,9,9 off Friday-2nd week) work schedule. After two weeks role may become hybrid with two days onsite per week.
Overview
Aegis Aerospace, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, is seeking a DOORS NG requirements engineer to support the Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System (MAVIS) program. This role will be responsible for administering and managing IBM DOORS Next Generation (NG) to ensure effective requirements development, traceability, and integration with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
As a DOORS NG requirements engineer, you will play a key role in structuring and maintaining the requirements database, supporting requirements decomposition, and ensuring consistency across MAVIS subsystems. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop verification methods, generate reports for design reviews, and integrate DOORS NG with MBSE tools. Did you know?

Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and optimize IBM DOORS NG for MAVIS requirements management
Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure proper database governance
Develop and enforce best practices for structuring requirements databases, attributes, and relationships
Develop, manage, and maintain system and subsystem requirements within DOORS NG
Ensure traceability between requirements, verification methods, and test plans
Support requirements decomposition, allocation, and validation across MAVIS subsystems
Generate reports, dashboards, and metrics for design reviews and audits
Integrate DOORS NG with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Rhapsody, or similar
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must presently be a US Citizen
Must have a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, computer science or related field from an accredited college is required
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IBM DOORS or DOORS NG administration
Strong background in requirements engineering for complex aerospace or defense systems
Hands-on experience with MBSE methodologies and SysML tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or Rhapsody
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or a related field from an accredited college
Experience following a disciplined model development plan or similar structured MBSE frameworks
Experience working on Mars architecture programs, launch vehicles, or planetary exploration systems
Familiarity with cloud-based DOORS NG deployments and potentially Jama Connect for requirements management
Systems engineering experience in space systems, launch vehicles, or deep-space missions
Proficiency in model-based systems engineering methodologies and SysML tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler
Previous experience supporting Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV), Mars Sample Return (MSR), or Artemis programs
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for documentation, communication, and collaboration
